How to Open and Activate Third Eye Chakra

How to Open and Activate Third Eye Chakra, Opening Third Eye Technique

People solve their problems through rational decision making. Sometimes they lack rationality and solve something through complete intuition. This can lead to either right or wrong decision. But the question arises, how and from where they get these intuitions? People are said to use the third eye for decision making. There are some techniques for opening third eye.

Benefits of activating third eye chakra:
  • Third eye chakra or Ajna chakra is located between the eyebrows. It is the seat of soul. Meditation on this chakra brings nectar, unlimited visions and the ability of controlling adverse circumstances.
  • The three major nadis Ida, Pingla and Sushumna meet in the third eye chakra, thus before awaking of kundalini Shakti the third eye chakra should be greatly purified and open properly.
  • Ajna or third eye chakra is the centre of wisdom and intuition. When this chakra is awaken mind becomes study, calm, reliable and free of all attachments.
  • Awakening third eye chakra improves your memory; increase the mystical power of mind. You will perceive psychic guidance, psychic visions, extra sensory perception, clairvoyance and divine intuition.
  • Will power becomes very strong and all goals of the aspirant are achieved.
  • The aspirant acquires the full control of prana. He can easily distribute the prana inside and outside the body at his will.
  • Awakening of third eye chakra gives many siddhis and mystical powers to the seeker.
  • The quality of beauty, friendliness, generosity, happiness and radiance are being incorporated in the personality of the seeker.

  • Sound vibrations created by utterance of a mantra enable the aspirant to attain the state of concentration, absorption, super consciousness and illumination.
  • Mantra is a form of a prayer which invokes the presiding deity of that mantra. Mantra chanting can awake amazing powers of mind and soul through the opening of that specific chakra of consciousness which related with the specific presiding deity.
  • If a mantra is awakened in the breath while concentrating on a specific chakra the whole body is recharged. The psychic toxins and blocks of that chakra are eliminated. The chakra opens with its full potentiality and the stage of union of individualized being with God is reached.
Science of activating the third eye with ॐ OM mantra

      • Control the thoughts and focus the mind by chanting OM mantra.
      • The energizing and purifying breaths of concentric breathing patterns purify and regenerate the mind and soul.
      • Concentric breathing patterns are a set of rhythmic and synchronizing breaths associated with constant visualization of circles one inside the other.
      • The rhythmic visualization of expansion and contraction of prana as fine streaks of light at third eye chakra results in unlocking the psychic lock of third eye chakra.
      • The whole technique will arrest the subconscious and conscious states of mind at third eye chakra resulting in the instant opening of that chakra.

Have a look at the following steps / techniques, for an effective solutions to open third eye:

Choose Your Place to Open Third Eye
To open third eye chakra, you need to meditate. For meditation, you must have a calm and quiet environment. So, choose your place accordingly so that you nobody disturbs you in the middle of your meditation.

Get in the Meditating Position to Open Third Eye
After you have found a suitable place for your meditation, you should sit with your knees folded. This is a very important part for opening third eye. You should place each of your hands in each of the legs.

Relax Your Soul to Open Third Eye
Relaxing is very important as a part of meditation. After you have sat in an appropriate position, you need to stay like that way for a while. Relax your body, do not move too much. If you move too much, you will eventually lose your concentration. You should also start relaxing your mind. If you have a relaxed mind, it will be easier for you to be successful in your meditation.

Be Attentive When You are Observing Your Surroundings
People do not give much importance to the things that are happening around them. As a result, they lose much important information through this process.

Dreams Can be an Eye Opener
Many people regard dreams as indication of something. Often, this becomes true too. So, keep a record of your dream. However, people forget their dream as soon as they wake up. Write down whatever you have seen and whatever you remember. This is how you can keep a record of your dream.

Listening to Your Inner Message to Open Third Eye
Have you ever had a feeling around the range of an individual, place, or occasion that you could not demonstrate? Have you ever had a peculiar notion that a certain occasion may occur, without any robust confirmation to help it? These sorts of sentiments are called gut intuitions, and everyone has them. Tragically, numerous individuals have a tendency to disregard their senses. Whenever you feel you have one of these emotions, record it and check whether it ends up being correct. Attempt to perceive how these hunches interface with your life. Remember that simply since you have a premonition, does not fundamentally imply that it is correct. In Contrast, assuming that it is correct, it may not unfold in genuine for a considerable length of time, months, or even years. The most ideal approach to know beyond any doubt is to record these sentiments when you get them and to backtrack and read them at times.

Meditate More Often to Open Third Eye
Do not expect that you will get to open your third eye right after following these steps. Instinct takes time to develop. You should be patient and do your meditation more often so that you can open the door for opening third eye.

There is a world inside everybody. Human is said to be capable of only using a part of its brain function. The unused part always unconsciously helps us in our daily lives. Often it gets disregarded by the people, but hunches do sometimes come true. Opening your third eye is an art. You need to make yourself capable of opening your third eye.

        Frequently Asked Questions

        Frequently Asked Questions

        What is Holistic Health Care?
Holistic care addresses the PERSON who has the disease, rather than the Disease the person has. It seeks to alleviate the cause rather than just healing the outward symptoms. Holistic healing brings people to a state of wholeness in body, emotions, mind and spirit.

What is the major Focus of Holistic Care?
Healing the cause of the illness instead of just bringing relief to the physical symptoms is the focus of holistic care. Relaxation is also a major part of holistic care as it enables the body to heal itself.  Reiki is a complete  energy system as a treatment and preventive health measure as well.

To Learn Reiki do I have to be Religious or be part of a Religious or Spiritual group?
No, not at all! Reiki is not a religious system and faith in a religious system is not required to be a practitioner of Reiki. It does not require any conditions to be fulfilled so that a student may learn Reiki, just a sincere desire to help themselves and others by using Reiki. Reiki is unconditional love. Everyone has the ability to receive and ‘give’ healing. It takes some longer than others to evolve in their spirituality to realize this!

        What Can be Treated?
Reiki is both powerful and gentle and in its long history of use has aided in healing every known illness and injury, including serious problems such as cancer and heart disease, as well as insomnia, skin problems, lack of self esteem, stress and anxiety, etc.  Reiki is a wonderful complement to any medical or supplemental healing method. However, it is not to be considered a substitute for traditional medical or behavioral health treatment.

        How Does Reiki Work?
Reiki is a natural, non-invasive therapy. It re-balances, revitalizes and realigns the body by removing blocked “chi” (energy).  Reiki Energy comes directly from the highest spiritual Source and has its own intelligence. It knows exactly about the areas in need of assistance. The practitioner, who maintains his or her connection to the Source, is simply a “conduit” for this energy.

We are all connected and energy has no limits, so Reiki may be sent remotely with the same results as a hands-on session.

When a person is relaxed, his or her body’s natural healing abilities come to the fore. Reiki facilitates this relaxation. A person’s blocks take years to build and so it may take more than one session to achieve complete healing.  The results of Reiki are cumulative and some benefits are often noted after the first session or two, depending on the individual’s state of well-being.

Do I need to stop the medications and medical care I’m currently undergoing to benefit from a Reiki Treatment?
Do NOT discontinue any medications or treatment program your medical practitioner has deemed necessary, unless you first speak with them personally. Reiki is a wonderful complement to other treatments such as Allopathy and alternative medicine. It can be used while you are on medication with medicines such as Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, etc.

As a Reiki Practitioner, we do not diagnose nor cure others. Reiki is doing the work. We are a channel for the life force energy to flow through, a provider of a connection to the healing energies to empower the recipient to heal. As a Reiki practitioner we do not interfere in the medical treatments the person is undergoing and we absolutely do NOT suggest that anyone discontinue medications or other treatment. Reiki is not a substitute for medical care.

A Reiki Practitioner will never advise you to discontinue the medical care you are currently undergoing. I would say steer clear of any such practitioners who tell you to stop your medications/ medical care in place of Reiki !

        What Is Distance Healing?
Distance healing or Absent healing is healing that takes place when the healer and the client are not physically in the same place. In other words a person can be in another country or even another continent and still be a part of a Reiki healing session and receive healing energy by the Reiki Practitioner!

        How Does Distance Healing Work?
We are all connected and energy has no limits, so Reiki may be sent remotely with the same results as a hands-on session. Distance Reiki works from the premise that energy is universal, it doesn't heed the human laws of time and distance.

This is how a distance session works-  the practitioner connects to the client via whatever methods work for them. Some use pictures, names, anything that strengthens the connection. A Reiki Practitioner sends or directs energy to the person or situation in need of healing through intention and visualization techniques.

Once the connection is established, the practitioner treats the client as if they were physically there. Some use visualization methods, others use proxy methods (something physically tangible that the practitioner can feel physically like a teddy bear for instance). There are a variety of methods that can be used.

Distance does not interfere in the sending or receiving of Reiki energy nor does it take any more effort to send it across the seas to other parts of the world.

What is the main difference between Reiki and other Energy Healing methods?
In Reiki,we do not "remove" negative energy and "put in" positive energy; rather, we transform all other kinds of energy into positive energy. Reiki healing and attunements can be done remotely also. A Reiki healer does not use his/her own energy to heal, they use Universal Energy. Reiki can be learned by anyone in a short time.

        Is Reiki a religion?
This is a very common question! Reiki is not a religion and is not based on any religion. It is spiritual in nature. Belief in a religious system is not required in order to receive, learn or use Reiki energy. All that is required is an open mind and heart, a willingness to learn and to heal.
What other Reiki techniques exist in the world?
The Radiance Technique, Usui/Tibetan Reiki, Seichem, Shamballa, Reiki Plus, Sacred Path Reiki, Ascension Reiki, Tera-Mai Reiki, Tera-Mai Seichem, Karuna Reiki, Karuna Ki, Raku Kei Reiki, Lightarian Reiki. These styles of Reiki are different from the traditional Reiki that Usui sensei used and taught.

        Is Reiki safe?
Reiki energy works only for the highest good of each person. Reiki can not cause harm and can not be used for harmful purposes. It is safe for anyone and for any situation including pregnant women and children.

        What are Reiki Symbols?
They are tools to help direct/focus energy. Symbols acquire power by being charged with the intention of the person. They are triggers that enable you to connect with spiritual information. The power is not in the symbol itself but in what the symbol represents. Symbols help you connect with and focus the Reiki energy.

        Is Reiki open to everyone?
Yes, anyone can be initiated into Reiki. It does not require any conditions to be fulfilled so that a student may learn Reiki, just the will to do so. You must have a sincere desire to help yourself and others by using Reiki. Belief in a religious system is not required to learn.

Can I treat myself with Reiki?
"If you can't heal yourself, how can you heal others" - Usui sensei.
Self-healing will re-balance and center your body-mind-spirit connection.

What are the five principles or precepts of Reiki?
        Usui sensei’s Reiki Principles are:
        Just for today
        Don’t get angry
        Don’t worry
        Be grateful
        Work hard
        Be kind to others

Will I get tired and exhausted if I give many Reiki treatments in a day?
Your own energy is never depleted when using Reiki. Reiki is Universal Energy and you draw from it for healing. You are a channel through which Reiki energy flows out of to heal. The energy heals and energizes you even while you are healing others.

How can one be attuned to Reiki?
Reiki is passed on to a student when a Reiki Master transmits energy to the student through a series of attunements/initiations.

An attunement is the process by which the Reiki Master passes on to the student the ability to channel Reiki energy or Universal energy. During this process your aura is cleared of any blocks so that the healing energies may flow through you. After the attunement, whether you use the energy or not, you can channel Reiki Energy all your life.

Does an attunement “wear off” with time?
An attunement is permanent, it does not “wear off” and you can never lose it. After the attunement, whether you use the energy or not, you can channel Reiki Energy all your life.

What is a Distant or Remote Attunement?
Distance Attunements are attunements that take place when the Reiki Master and the client are not physically in the same place. In other words a person can be in another country or even another continent and still be attuned to Reiki by the Reiki Master!

A distant attunement uses the Reiki Distant Symbol (Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen) to perform an attunement on someone who is not physically present. Most Reiki practitioners accept that touch is not required for a Reiki treatment or attunement to be given. It is the Intent of the Reiki Master that is of utmost importance for an attunement to happen.

        Do Distant Attunements work?
It must be understood that Reiki Attunements are done on an energetic level rather than a physical one. All Reiki Masters agree on this. The only physical touching that is done during the process of attunement such as tapping on the shoulders, hands is really optional. All that is needed for the Reiki Attunement to be successfully passed is the Reiki Master's intent to give a Reiki Attunement and the recipient's intent to receive the attunement.
Distant Attunements are appropriate and as perfect as hands-on attunements. Distant Attunements are done by using the distant symbol and visualization and intent.

Can Reiki be used with other therapies?
Yes. It can be combined with other complementary therapies very successfully. Reiki is a wonderful complement to other forms of treatment such as Allopathy and alternative medicine. It can be used while you are on medication with medicines such as Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, etc. Reiki will enhance their effects.

Do I need to have a medical background to learn Reiki?
No! Anyone can learn Reiki, no qualifications of any formal education are required. Many hospitals and universities are recognizing the benefits of Reiki and although health care professionals may offer Reiki to their patients, anyone can learn Reiki.

Can Reiki be used on animals and plants?
Animals and plants have energy systems that respond well to Reiki. They are living energy fields that can become imbalanced and they draw Reiki energy quite easily.

Will I feel any sensations during or after the Reiki treatment?
It depends entirely on the individual. You might have sensations during or after the treatment such as: heat, tingling, relaxation, sleepiness, or other. Or you might not have any sensations at all, but this does not mean that Reiki is not working

What Does a Treatment Consist of?
A standard treatment consists of placing the hands on or just above positions around the head, shoulders, stomach, knees, feet or back. Each position is held for approximately 3 to 5 minutes and the entire treatment usually lasts an average of 30 minutes to 60 minutes. The hand positions and duration of the treatment depend on the needs of the client.

The client remains fully clothed and lies on a massage table during the treatment. The client can be seated on a chair during the treatment, if he or she is comfortable so. The client is advised to wear loose, comfortable clothes so that they can relax completely; shoes are to be removed.

You will find that Reiki treatments relax, rejuvenate and refresh you. A Reiki treatment heals on all levels- physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

What changes can I expect after being attuned to Reiki ?
        Change is three fold:
        1. Heightened awareness towards your goal.
        2. You will begin to think differently about yourself & your place in life!
        3. Your behaviors concerning your environment, your relationships, your job...etc. will begin to change and you will begin to see that we are all part of a whole.

What does the term Reiki Master mean?
In the Usui System of Reiki, one who has been attuned with Reiki energy is a practitioner. Reiki training is divided into 3 Levels or Degrees: 1st Degree, 2nd Degree and 3rd Degree. After the 1st Degree and 2nd Degree attunements, the student becomes a practitioner and can channel Reiki Energy to others. However, a practitioner cannot attune or initiate others after the 1st and 2nd Degree, they need to be attuned into the 3rd Degree of Reiki. After being attuned to the 3rd Degree of Reiki, the practitioner receives the title Reiki Master/Teacher and has the ability to teach and attune students.

In Reiki, Master means teacher. A Master has taken the responsibility to help others on their path. A Reiki Master has chosen to walk the path of healing and has made a commitment to show others how to heal themselves and others by showing them the way. It is not a designation to be used for ego inflation.

A Reiki Master is one who is able to stay in his or her own energy and not interfere with the path of another being.

Can Reiki really help me Heal?
        Absolutely!

Is there any Research on the effects of Reiki?
Yes, there is! Clinical research on the effects of Reiki therapy on a variety of physical and mental disorders is currently in process at several medical centers in the U.S. with the assistance of funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  Published reports have noted a positive effect on pain control, enhanced relaxation, and increased circulation in human research subjects. Also, Kirlian photos or Aura photos show significant changes before and after Reiki treatments.

        Intuition

        What is Intuition?

The standard definition is "knowledge gained of something without the use of reasoning or the five basic senses". Throughout time, many of the great achievers have spoken of successful decisions they made based on hunches, insights, visions, and gut feelings.

        Are You Intuitive?

We have all had experiences involving intuition. A common occurrence is to think of someone we have not seen or heard from in a while and then shortly afterwards, out of nowhere, this person shows up in our lives. Many of us have dreams while sleeping and then shortly afterwards find ourselves in the same specific situation in our waking reality.

Another common experience happens when we are walking, for example at a shopping mall, and we feel a pull to look in a certain direction out of our field of vision. Then it happens - we turn and lock eyes with someone who was admiring us from a distance. Of course, they often look away quickly when they realize they are intuitively caught. It's hard to play a situation like that off on biological factors (scents, sounds, etc.), especially when the other person is a hundred feet away.

What Are The Benefits Of Intuition?

As we begin to rely on this unified aspect and become more receptive to information received intuitively, we advance mentally, emotionally, and spiritually at a much faster rate compared to an individual who limits himself/herself to just information obtained from the five senses. This applies to every aspect of our lives (relationships, family, finances, awareness, happiness, etc).

There is a bank of greater intelligence that is accessible to everyone. This intelligence exceeds far beyond our limited personal reasoning. An example of the benefits of utilizing this greater intelligence could be a situation that occurs commonly in intimate relationships. Say for example, that an individual becomes jealous of their partner and they cannot figure out why or what to do to make the jealousy go away.

By being receptive to intuition, to this greater intelligence, they not only have a greater probability of seeing the reason that they are jealous, but also a greater chance at coming up with a solution to the issue. Most of us could probably appreciate that.

That is much more efficient than repeating the same pattern of being jealous until it finally tears the relationship apart and then finding ourselves once again in a new relationship in a similar situation.

        Communication With Others

Greater communication with yourself as well as greater communication with others can occur as you become more open to intuitive insights. The potentials are very appealing. Imagine being able to look at someone and know instantly where they stand:

        • How they really feel, not just how they appear to feel
        • What the reason behind their emotion is
        • What they have been through in life
        • What their challenges are
        • What their talents are
        • What they are attempting to communicate with you

Imagine specifically knowing when you need to telephone someone that you care about that needs support. Imagine knowing the most appropriate thing to say to someone that you are talking to – even someone you just met for the first time. You can start to see the intensity of the intimacy that is reachable with others and how meaningful heightened intuition can be in your life.

If things generally seem to work out smoothly in your life, you probably already function intuitively well (although you might not recognize the intuitive experiences when they occur). If this is the case, you might not need to put that much attention on this aspect of life we call intuition. We should point out at the same time that “functioning well” is a relative term. If you compare yourself to one of the great achievers of our times, you might see how you could be more creative, successful, and aware.

On the other hand, if you just keep making decisions that seem to create undesirable effects, you might want to consider trying something different. There may be a way of functioning in which much of the suffering you are going through can be bypassed.

        Some Elements Involved With Intuition

We all have random experiences of intuition, but to actually induce this type of experience, to call forth this higher level of intelligence at will, it may take a little more practice for a lot of us. Based on research from field-studies conducted by Princeton University and other credible sources, in order to access intuition, many of us will have to develop:

        • The skill of being quiet mentally and emotionally so that there is actually room to listen
        • A less limiting model of reality which actually allows the ability of the mind to perceptually skip across time and space
        • An openness to the outcome (play with intuition like a game)
        • Concentration
        • Open-mindedness about life (when we are biased, we tend to block intuition)
        • The ability to overcome our fears, doubts, our limited perceptions from past conditioning
        • The boldness to take small risks, more and more
        • Receptivity to receiving intuitive information
        • The ability to focus our attention intensely
        • The ability to pay attention (perceiving from an advanced level of awareness)

In your pursuit for the experience of intuition, you discover ways to open yourself up to this unlimited insight. One of the most effective paths is to just have fun with it, play with it. You will be much more successful if you play with intuition instead of working hard at it. Many of the great thinkers throughout time would agree that every aspect of life is more enjoyable if you are operating from the “playground of your mind.”

        Developing Heightened Perception

Paying attention is one of the simplest ways for you to start to become more open to receiving intuitive insights. When we say paying attention, we mean stepping back and seeing everything from a distance. When you are a fish, it’s tricky to get a greater understanding of what the water is unless you jump out of the water occasionally. If you think about it, a fish that jumps every now and then, has to perceive the underwater life a little different from the rest of those guys.

Anyway, you can apply paying attention in many ways. When you have a thought, instead of just thinking it and then reacting to it, step back and watch it go by, like a line of words on a blank movie screen or maybe a bubble floating by. This allows you to begin to perceive at a higher level instead of just “being thought”.

Like an artist that is painting a huge painting - when the artist is up close to the painting, it is difficult for the artist to see anything except what is right in front of his/her face. When the artist steps back ten feet, it then becomes possible for him/her to perceive the painting for what it is, to see the whole painting / product.

Another excellent time to play this game of “paying attention” is when you have an emotion. Step outside of it and take a look at it. Observe where the sensation is within your body. What shape is it? If you had to give to a temperature, would it be hot or cold? Is it dense or spread out? Where does it exist in relation to the rest of your body or the room you are sitting in?

You have to play with these games of paying attention in the same way that a little toddler plays with a new toy. The toddler doesn't think a whole lot about it - he hasn't even learned how to think yet. He is more joyful, creative, and open to discovering the toy for what it is. There is actually no “him” that is playing with the toy. “He” (the conditioned, programmed intellect) does not even exist yet. It is more like "the experience of the toy” for the toddler. The toddler probably has little memory of the toy, just an encounter of the toy in the “present” moment.

It is in this space beyond your thoughts (or better yet, in between them), the space beyond your emotions, beyond the boundaries of your body, that a greater awareness of who you are lies. It is also in this space that the gifts of intuition exist. You may receive a passing thought out of nowhere, an emotional sensation, or image of something. This is how the intuitive process begins.

        Energy Exchange in Reiki

        Reiki and Money

Money for Reiki? Money in exchange for universal life energy? This seems inappropriate to many people because each of us has a bit of the idealist inside of us. The theory is that the energy is freely available so how can one charge for it?

On the other hand, some people are practical minded and assess how much time and money they invest in their Reiki activities. It takes a practitioner plenty of deliberation to finally arrive at a price he/she is comfortable taking from the client. Reiki courses, Reiki treatments, Reiki instruction–all of this costs money.

To become a healer one spends lots of time learning the art. A healer goes through lots of self healing and spends money on books, trainings, material costs such as certificates, seals, stamps, print cost, CD player, CDs, membership fees in Reiki organizations and taxes. Generally, it is not a common practice to set prices based on the financial capacity of a prospective client. The prices are the same for all clients unless the practitioner wants to lower them for a client who can’t pay the sum in question.

Somewhere between these two extremes is a middle ground. That of Universal Truth. Namely that money is symbolic of Energy.

Still, how much do you accept for a Reiki healing session? For a second degree course? For training a master? It is different for every Reiki Master. For many practitioners, these are difficult questions. It is difficult to measure the value of what one gives with Reiki. In the search for the absolutely perfect solution, the best thing for a practitioner to do is to follow the course of the Grand Masters themselves.

There are many versions of stories about how Dr. Usui, Dr. Hayashi and Mrs. Takata developed the Reiki System of Healing. Among the stories, Dr. Usui is said to have practiced Reiki healing in the slums of Kyoto to treat the beggars and help them lead a better life. He spent many years there treating many illnesses. Over a period of time Dr. Usui began to notice familiar faces. When he asked why they were back in the slums instead of beginning a new life, he was told that it was easier to beg than work. Dr. Usui was disappointed in them but realized that by giving Reiki away, the value of his efforts had diminished. The importance of an exchange of energy became clear to him. He realized that people valued things more if they had to give something in return.

Money is the physical accumulation of energy of an individual and can be used as an exchange or fees. Mrs.Takata is said to have charged $10000.00 for the Reiki Master Attunement. Sometimes Mrs.Takata took a small amount of money as part of her fees in addition to a new client that her student would bring to her.

This society puts value on that for which it pays out money. The fees is a worldly means of expressing true gratitude and with it, true respect for what one has received. When we truly appreciate and respect the treatment and/or training received, this also opens us psychologically and spiritually to receive the full benefits of the gift of the phenomenon that is Reiki.

        Reiki Symbols and Meaning

        Reiki Symbol and Meaning

These are scans of the Reiki symbols. The arrows and numbers in the pictures indicate how the symbols are to be drawn. You can find more information about the use of the symbols in the text files section, there are many variations of some symbols but they all work, use your intuition to find the right one for you.

        Cho Ku Rei :

The first symbol is CHO-KU-REI (pronounced cho-koo-ray), which is often referred to as the 'power symbol. You will normaly use this symbol in every healing session, as frequently as you feel is right. Its affect is to channel far stronger healing energy. Some people may feel attracted to drawing it counter clockwise instead. If you experiment, you will usually find which feels better for you.

        Sei He Ki :

The second symbol is SEI-HE-KI (pronounced say-hay-kee) and is used in most healings. It is sometimes called the 'emotional symbol' because it specifically addresses the emotional healing process and helps release deeply repressed feelings, quickly and easily. It is usually drawn once at the start of a session, and can be used again when you feel drawn to it at any time during the healing.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen :

HON SHA ZE SHO NEN (pronounced hon-sha-zee-show-nen) "The Distance Symbol" Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is used to send Reiki. You can send Reiki to anyone and anything. It is used to send Reiki over distance and time (such as when using Reiki to heal a past trauma or sending Reiki to a point in the future when you or someone might need it). It is also drawn before sending a distant attunement. You may be guided intuitively to use it in other situations when necessary. If you feel you need to use it but have trouble recalling it exactly, just repeat the name of of the symbol and let Reiki do the rest for you.

        Usui Dai Ko Myo :
        Traditional Dia Ku Myo
        Traditional Dia Ku Myo

        New Age Dai Ku Myo

The DAI KU MYO is also known as the Master Symbol. Third Degree Reiki adds the symbol Dai Ko Myo or dai ku myo (dye koo myo, (mm yoh long o) Self empowerment, Intuition, Creativity, and Spiritual connection it enables recognition and clarity about your true path. Less is known about this most powerful of the Reiki energy functions because until quite recently there have been very few people empowered to use it so it is still somewhat unexplored. It activates a powerful energy for Self Empowerment it is used for opening Spiritual connection and intuition and cellular healing .once you are attuned for this energy I recommend using it for treating yourself and others each time you activate Reiki . It is said to work at the cellular and genetic levels and is valuable for treating Migraine Headaches. Many people have found that the Reiki Attunement particularly to this Reiki tool increases the intuitive and psychic awareness that they can comfortably access. This is the energy that the Reiki master activates to do the Attunements that make the Reiki energies permanently accessible to the new practitioner. Many Reiki Masters do a non master three a attunement that activates the Dai ku myo as the spiritual intuitive energy but does not give the ability to do attunements. The Dai Ku Myo is in Buddhist teaching the representation of unlimited potential and of all spiritual teachings and natural laws of the universe All of the functions which have been added to variations of Reiki   are actually contained in the Dai Ku Myo.

        Raku (Fire Serpent) :

This Symbol is pronounced "ra-koo" which is mainly used at the end of attunments, take a deep breath and hold it in, move around the back of the receiver then draw the RAKU from their head, down along the spine and down to the ground, simultaneously releasing the breath. Inform the receiver that the process is complete and that they should sit still for a few minutes before arising. It does not initiate healing energy, but instead is involved in grounding the receiver, it may also be used at the end of a healing session or at other times when additional grounding is needed. Now a big tip when attuning people to reiki, sending distant treatments don't try to hard trust in the Intelligent Reiki Energy and you will never fail ! the main word to remember is your INTENT ! so take it easy let the energy flow.

        Non Traditional Reiki Symbols

        Halu :

This symbol is pronounced "hay-lou" It was channeled by Kathleen and Marcy and was given purportedly by Sai baba during a meditation. Halu means love, truth, and beauty. It can also mean harmony. It is supposed to be a deeper ray of healing. This symbol is an amplification of Zonar. To draw this, the Z is completed and the pyramid is added. Halu is thought to be more powerful than Zonar and works in higher dimensions and at deeper levels. Halu is said to restore balance. It is thought to bring about "deep healing" at causal and karmic levels. Like the Usui Reiki symbol, Sei Hei Ki, it is supposed to help dissolve negative patterns in the unconscious mind that we use to keep ourselves from truth, and also to break up delusion and denial. It is also used to open a channel to higher consciousness. It can be used to repel and dispel psychic attack and psychological attacks. To use Halu for this purpose, draw the symbol in the air and connect at your heart center to the divine compassion. Infuse and surround yourself with the symbol and this energy. Know and intent that no psychic or psychological attacks can harm you in the oneness of this love.

        Zonar :

This symbol is pronounced "zoe nar". It was channeled by Marcy Miller and purportedly given to Marcy from Sai Baba during a meditation. Zonar means "infinity" or eternity. To draw the symbol, first draw the "Z" and then the infinity three times. This symbol is thought to work with past lives. The theory being that the cells carry the memory of trauma, and ideas from both this life and previous lives. This symbols is thought to help us work through these issues and release them and the associated Karma. Because of this it is thought to work well with child abuse.

        Harth :

This symbol is pronounced exactly as spelled. It was channeled by Kathleen Milner and Marcy Miller. Harth means Love, Truth, Beauty, Harmony and Balance. It is the main symbol of Karuna Ki. It represents the Infinite Love and Compassion of the source. Harth is a symbol for the heart from which healing and love flow. It is used to heal the heart and issues of the heart, and helps one develop Karuna (compassion). It is useful and helpful in healing relationships. Harth restores our love of life and for the things we do. Harth is good to use for addictions of all kinds.

        Om :

This symbol is pronounced "Ah uu mm". It is a Sanskrit symbol used in many eastern spiritual practices. Represents the Universe functioning as a whole unit; A father/mother beckoning creation, U = son/daughter the evolution of individual souls; and M absorbing of all that is created. The sacred sound of the Universe. Om cleans, stabilizes and seals the aura. It brings in light, purifies, protects and connects with GOD. Om is chanted and visualized in gold by and individual or in groups to be used for healing or psychic attunement; sound psychically charges the air with prana which is under the direction of thought and can be directed specifically. It is recognized as the primal sound and chanted to control natural manifestations; represents the three manifestations of all life: creation, preservation and destruction Use in the initiation process to seal in the other symbols or to seal each part of the attunement. Om opens the crown and if drawn above the head opens a pathway to God and higher consciousness. I have found that repeating the Mantra "Ah um mm" that the Reiki energy doubles, it is also good for your Chakras

        Antahkarana :

Antahkarana Symbol - A symbol consisting of a cube shape with 7's on its face surfaces. Presumably of Tibetan origin although this cannot be determined. Claimed to have panacea type effects on all areas of healing. This is used in a specific meditation as well as on "master frequency generator plates" developed by Ralf Jensen.

        Reiki Principles

        Reiki Principles

        The Secret Method
        Of inviting Blessings
        The Spiritual Medicine
        Of many illnesses

        Just for today
        Don’t get angry
        Don’t worry
        Be grateful
        Work hard
        Be kind to others

        Mornings and evenings
        Sit in the gassho position
        And repeat these words
Out loud and in your heart
        For the improvement
        Of Body and Soul…

Usui hoped that all Reiki practitioners would spend a few moments each morning and evening to reflect on these principles. Practitioners who do this may find that it becomes easier to live up to the principles and have a happier and more balanced life.

        Expanding on the Principles:
        Don’t get angry
Anger results from a feeling of being out of control. We become angry when our expectations are not met.

This does not mean to keep anger bottled up, suppressed inside or to pretend that it isn’t there. This principle just means do not let anger consume you. When anger rises, watch the emotion closely and you will feel it dissolving into nothing.

        Don’t worry
Each day must be lived to the best of our abilities. And leave the rest to the universal energy. Try to find a solution to your problem. If you find a solution, you don’t have a problem to deal with anymore. And if you don’t, leave it to the universal energies. Worry is not a solution to any problem. You must learn to trust the universe and become open to experience yourself as part of a safe and loving universe.

        Be grateful
Having appreciation and gratitude for the blessings you have received is a way of attracting more blessings into your life. Cultivating an attitude of feeling blessed is the path to joy and happiness. It means giving thanks for whatever you have received and will receive.

        Work hard
This is not just work or job related. You have to be honest with yourself first to see the truth in all things. Then you can see that your experiences are lessons that you need to learn from to become spiritually whole. Living with integrity in your relationships, in your work and in your everyday situations will help you create harmony around you.

        Be kind to others
We are all part of an interconnected whole. Each person, animal and mineral is included in the whole, only we each have different levels of vibration. When we are grateful for our life and have patience with a heart full of love, we will naturally be kind.
